December 2016 Happenings

The holiday season has surrounded the area around the Rock Hill Coca-Cola Bottling Company with so many special events that we hardly know what to do with ourselves. The next few days are chock-full of Christmas activities and shows. If you’re needing a break from all your Christmas decorating or shopping, check out one of these delightful options.

Founders Federal Credit Union Holiday Ice Rink

Located on Saluda Street in downtown Rock Hill, the Ice Rink opened in mid-November and will run through the middle of January. For just $10, you can strap on a pair of skates and show off your ice skills for a couple of hours. Bonus: On December 10, the man in red will make an appearance. Santa will be around from 1 to 5 p.m. Should be a great way to spend a December afternoon.

Christmas in Olde York Tour of Homes and Sites

On December 10th & 11th from 3-7 p.m., you can tour some special locations in the historic York downtown. This year’s tour will focus on some renovated apartments and on the renovated First Presbyterian Church. After the Historical Marker Dedication on December 10th, the newly renovated Courthouse will also be open on a limited basis.

The Real Christmas Story

The NarroWay Theatre in Fort Mill will put on a fun show that will run through December 21st. You’ll get some songs, a show, and a great meal, all while enjoying a rendition of the real Christmas story. Expect some snow. Arrive early for a camel ride!

Scrooge’s Christmas: A Christmas Carol

The Rock Hill Community Theatre will present a different kind of Christmas story, running for 8 shows from December 9th through the 18th. The theater is located at 546 S. Cherry Rd, Suite N (behind ROC Emporium). This one is sure to cure your humbug.

Lake Wylie Boat Parade

Ahoy there! After a day of celebrations at Christmas by the Lake (including a live nativity and a visit from Santa), all worthy captains will light up their boats and parade around the Buster Boyd Bridge area. Fun for seadogs and landlubbers alike.

Carolina Belles

One more show to mention: At the Fort Mill Community Playhouse, you can enjoy a performance of “We Are One in Music – A Holiday Festival.” The show starts at 3 p.m. and will feature rousing Christmas tunes.

Watch Here for More

As you can see, there’s more than enough to keep you busy for the next few days. In a couple of weeks, we here at the Rock Hill Coca-Cola Bottling Company will let you know about a few more opportunities for holiday festivities in Rock Hill and the surrounding areas.
