March 2018 Events in Rock Hill

You usually hear that March comes in like a lion and out like a lamb. March 2018 in Rock Hill is just the opposite, at least when it comes to events in the community. A quiet opening to March will give way to a spring storm of activity later in the month. As long as you either appreciate Irish culture or are a bicycle enthusiast, you won’t be bored for the last two weeks of the month.

St. Patrick’s Day on Main

This year marks the 10th Annual St. Patrick’s Day on Main event. Once again this year, Old Town Rock Hill will be alive with the luck of the Irish. Deck yourself in green from head to toe and saunter on over to Main Street from 4 to 10 p.m. On the one day of the year when everyone gets to be Irish, you can enjoy live music and plenty of food and drink. The kids can be leprechauns as they frolic in the Kids’ Play Zone, which will be open from 4 to 9 p.m. Dennis Springs and Sons of the Full Moon will play from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Brymor will take the stage from 7 to 10 p.m. St. Patrick’s Day on Main is free for everyone.

Rock Hill Community Bike Ride

If you save enough energy after the St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, load up the bikes and head over to Cherry Park from 2 to 4 p.m. for the Rock Hill Community Bike Ride. These rides, which take place monthly, are a great way to tour some of the sites of the city at a more leisurely pace. Covering roughly five miles, the ride will be led by the able staff at Rock Hill Parks, Recreation and Tourism. Be sure to wear your helmet. Participants must be able to ride a bike without training wheels. If you don’t have a bike or a helmet, don’t worry. A limited number are available for riders 10 and up on a first come, first served basis. Be sure to arrive 30 minutes before the departure time.

Carolina Nationals

Consider the calm ride through Rock Hill’s neighborhoods the calm before the storm, as the Carolina Nationals come to the Rock Hill BMX Supercross Track on Friday, March 23rd. The weekend will be chock-full of BMX action, with riders from all ages tackling the world-class course. The racing action begins at 2 p.m. on Friday, at 12 p.m. on Saturday, and at 8 a.m. on Sunday.
