December is here and that means it’s time to rev up the Christmas cheer! We’ve all been getting ready for the season, dashing from shop to shop and checking all the lists (and, of course, checking them twice). With all that running around, it’s easy to lose ourselves in the holiday hustle and bustle. We can often forget to simply enjoy ourselves. So, what to do?
The first step would be to check out these tips for increasing Christmas cheer. If those steps aren’t enough, or if you’re just clamoring for even more of the Christmas spirit, head out to one of these December 2017 events in Rock Hill. If you manage to make it to all of them, you’ll be the brightest Christmas star since the Nativity!
The Nutcracker
From December 14th through 17th, the York County Ballet will present The Nutcracker. The stage of Winthrop University’s Johnson Hall Theatre will come alive with Sugar Plum Fairies, Nutcrackers, and of course that nasty Rat King. On Thursday and Friday, the show will begin at 8 p.m. On Saturday, shows will start at 3 and 8 p.m. The Sunday show will begin at 3 p.m.
Scrooge’s Christmas
What Christmas season would be complete without a visit from the Christmas spirits? Follow Ebenezer Scrooge on his journey from the past through the present and into the future. Scrooge’s Christmas is a delightful stage adaptation of Charles Dickens’ timeless classic novel. The Rock Hill Community Theatre will present shows at 7:30 p.m. from December 8th through 16th and at 3 p.m. on December 10th and 17th.
The Real Christmas Story
Nutcrackers and Scrooge are fine, but if you want the Nativity story, you’ll want to attend a show at NarroWay Productions. These shows, which run daily through December 21st offer, in effect, two shows in one. You’ll enjoy your traditional and favorite Christmas scenes and songs, then you’ll experience the Real Christmas Story. While you watch the show, you’ll also get to eat a traditional Christmas dinner, complete with turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie, and more. Every Christmas will be a white one at NarroWay!
Founders Holiday Ice Rink
While these productions will definitely boost your Christmas cheer, attending all the performances means an awful lot of sitting. Get up and get moving at the Founders Holiday Ice Rink, open through January 15th. Every Wednesday, two can skate for the price of one. Thursday, December 14th you can show both holiday and School Spirit from 7 to 9 p.m.
Merry Christmas
All of here at Rock Hill Coca-Cola Bottling Company wish a very Merry Christmas to you and yours!
