Ingredients
Wings
- 3-4 pounds wings, separated and trimmed
- salt
- pepper
Sauce
- 2 ½ cups Coca-Cola (20 oz bottle)
- ⅓ cup honey
- ½ cup tomato paste
- 1-3 teaspoons hot sauce (adjust for desired spiciness)
- 3 teaspoons finely minced garlic
- 1 cup dark brown sugar
- ½ tablespoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon dry ground mustard
- ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
Directions
Line a baking tray with paper towels. Lay wings out on the tray in a single layer and pat dry. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Arrange the wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Air fry at 400º for 4 minutes. You do not need to turn the wings.
While the wings are air frying, discard the paper towels from the baking tray. Line the tray with parchment paper.
As the wings continue to cook, combine the sauce ingredients in a large sauce pan. Stir well.
Cook the sauce over high heat until it comes to a boil. Remove from the heat. Stir well. Allow the sauce to cool slightly while the wings finish their first 4 minutes.
Remove the wings from the air fryer basket one at a time with tongs. Dip the wings fully in the sauce. Allow excess sauce to drip off. Place dipped wings on the parchment lined baking tray.
Once all wings have been dipped, return them to the air fryer basket. Air fry at 360º for 12 minutes. Shake the basket half-way through to redistribute the wings. Remove from air fryer basket.
Repeat the dipping procedure. Return wings to the air fryer basket. Air fry at 375º for 12 minutes. Shake the basket half-way through to redistribute the wings.
Serve the sweet, spicy, sticky air fryer hot wings with celery, carrots, and bleu cheese.
