Cranberry Drinks Abound during the Holidays

Cranberry drinks abound during the holiday season. From mid-November through New Year’s Eve, every occasion glows a little more brightly when cranberry drinks are served. Does the bright red juice evoke the colors of Christmas? Is the tart sweetness somehow more enjoyable when there’s a chill in the air? Who knows?

Enjoy these four family-friendly recipes that blend cranberries and Coca-Cola products. A few we’ve shown you before; one is new to the Rock Hill Coca-Cola Bottling Company.

Holiday Punch with Sprite

If you’re hosting a large gathering, this bright holiday punch will definitely do the trick. It uses cranberry juice, orange juice, and pineapple juice in equal amounts. Add a 2-liter of Sprite and some orange slices and fresh cranberries for garnish and you’ll have enough for the most festive of Christmas parties.

Cranberry Apple Ginger Holiday Punch

This punch also blends a wide array of flavors. Combine equal parts cranberry juice and apple cider. Add to the fruit juices half-again as much Seagram’s Ginger Ale. Toss in some fresh cranberries, apple slices, and cinnamon sticks for garnish. The longer you let the flavors blend, the better the punch. Mix the juices and the cinnamon a day in advance; add the ginger ale when you’re ready to serve.

Cranberry Spritzers

These Cranberry Spritzers resemble the Holiday Punch, but with a heavier emphasis on the cranberry. The recipe encourages using the freshest ingredients.

Cranberry Vanilla Coke-tail

This recipe is new to the Rock Hill Coca-Cola Bottling Company collection. While the other recipes yield enough for crowds, this recipe scales down for individual servings.

Ingredients

  • Vanilla Coke (or Coke and vanilla extract)
  • Cranberry juice (use 100% juice, not cranberry cocktail)
  • Fresh cranberries

Directions

To simplify an already super-simple cranberry drink recipe, use Vanilla Coke. If you can’t locate any Vanilla Coke, use vanilla extract instead.

Fill each glass half-way with ice.

Pour Coke to ¾ fill the glass. If you’re using vanilla extract, add 2-3 drops to each glass.

Top off each glass with cranberry juice.

Gently stir each glass.

Float 3-4 fresh cranberries in each glass.
