The pinnacle of summer in the USA is July 4^th. During the first week of July, communities across the country celebrate Independence Day with gatherings showing civic and national pride. From parades to parties to the traditional fireworks shows, the collective shindig of July 4^th gives us all something to be happy about.

Several events are happening in and around Rock Hill this year. Be sure to check out one or more these July 4^th celebrations.

Red, White, and Boom!

The city of Rock Hill gets the party started a day early on July 3^rd. Red, White, and Boom! will kick off at 5:30 p.m. in Old Town. Promising plenty of fun for the whole family, Red, White, and Boom! offers music, food, and fireworks. Listen to the live music from The Legacy Motown Revue and Radiojacks while you grab some food from the food trucks. Let the kids bounce around in the inflatables and take a spin on the mechanical rides. Be sure to save some energy to make it to the 10 p.m. fireworks display.

Independence Day at Historic Brattonsville

If you want to get a feel for the authentic, historical celebrations of July 4^th, head over to Historic Brattonsville from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on July 4^th. In addition to the costumed interpreters dancing the Virginia Reel and demonstrating life from the 1850s, you can also enjoy listening to the reading of the Declaration of Independence from the front steps of Highwater Hall. This reading will remind you of the true significance of the holiday!

Tega Cay 4^th of July Celebration

The festivities in Tega Cay will begin at 9 a.m. on July 4^th with the annual Land Parade. At 11 a.m., you can watch the Canoe Joust or join in the Boat Parade, which will end at Windjammer at 12:30. The Carolina Show Ski Team will delight the crowd at 1 p.m. At 3 p.m. everyone can cool off at the Splish-n-Splash. The Tega Cay Lions Club will host a fish fry from 4:30-7:30. Fireworks at 9:30.

Baxter Village/Fort Mill July 4^th Parade

The Baxter Village/Fort Mill July 4^th Parade will feature a little bit of everything: sports team mascots, stiltwalkers, classic cars and more. Several bands will make an appearance, as will Betsy Ross and Uncle Sam. The parade will begin at 9:30 a.m. on July 4^th along Market Street in Baxter Village.
