If you live in the Rock Hill community and are a music-lover, August is the month for you. With a full slate of summer concert series to choose from, you’ll be able to spend the dog days listening to your favorite tunes.
August 1st
The month of August starts with a concert that’s part of the Anne Springs Close Greenway Summer Concert Series. Kids in America will be blasting all the songs that made the 80s so great. Gates open at 6; music begins at 6:30.
August 3rd
Speaking of the 80s, Bret Michaels, frontman for the glam metal band Poison will play the Rock Hill’s Old Town Amphitheater on August 3rd. Gates open at 6; opening act at 7; Bret Michaels is on at 8:15.
August 8th
With at least three great choices on August 8th, you might have a hard time deciding which way to go. Lyrics on the Lawn will take place on the grounds of the historic White Home in Old Town Rock Hill. The event will run from 5 to 9.
Another show in the Anne Springs Close Greenway Summer Concert Series, Triple Play will bring a mix of classic rock and beach music. Gates open at 6; music begins at 6:30.
Or you could head over to Clover for Nights @ New Centre, featuring The HC Oakes Band playing a mix of rock, blues, and country. The show begins at 6.
August 15th
Yet another show in the Anne Springs Close Greenway Summer Concert Series, KRVE will please the crowd with music ranging from Top 40 to 90s/2000s to R&B. Gates open at 6; music begins at 6:30.
August 17th
The Tega Cay Concert Series will feature Ultimate Aldean on August 17th. The show will run from 6 to 10.
August 22nd
Lyrics on the Lawn will return to the grounds of the historic White Home in Old Town Rock Hill on August 22nd. The event will run from 5 to 9.
August 23rd
Ok, technically Old Town Rock Hill’s Movies in the Park is not a concert, but Avengers Infinity War rocks, so it counts. The event begins at 7:30; the movie shows at dark.
August 24th
Historic Downtown York’s Summerfest offers a lot, including Gospel Xplosion from 3 to 5.
