October is upon us…and so the spooky season begins! You’ll find no shortage of Halloween themed events happening in and around Rock Hill this month. Aside from the regular haunted houses, trunk-or-treats, and autumn festivals, you’ll also get a wide array of interesting options throughout the month. Check out these spook-tacular events during October.
Museum of York County
The Museum of York County will live up the Halloween spirit all month long with a couple of planetarium shows and a science event.
Spooky Space: Cosmic Connections to Halloween
This planetarium show will run every Tuesday through Saturday at 3:30 p.m. from October 1st through November 2nd.
Halloween Show
On October 5th, 12th, and 19th (all Saturdays), this planetarium show will run at 11 a.m.
Spooky Science
Get educated with some creepy-crawlers on October 26th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Lanterns and Legends: Downtown Walking Tour
Learn a little history and hear a few ghostly tales as you tour historic downtown Rock Hill. The one-hour tours will run at 6:30, 7:00, and 7:45 on October 4th, 5th, 11th, 12th, 17th, 18th, 19th, 24th, 25th, and 26th.
Ghost Stories at the Farm and Haunted Trail to Camp York
Head over to Kings Mountain State Park for an evening of fun on October 12th from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The Legend of Sleepy Hollow
Washington Irving’s classic tale of Ichabod Crane and the Headless Horseman has been adapted by Catherine Bush for a special stage performance. The show will take place on the outside patio of the Historic White Home from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on October 24th through 26th and October 31st through November 2nd.
Movies in the Park: Goosebumps 2
Kids will love watching Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween at Movies in the Park on October 25th. Events will begin at 6 p.m.; the movie will show at 7:45 p.m.
Spooky Night in the Park
If you didn’t get enough spooky at Kings Mountain State Park on the 12th, head back over for the night on October 26th for trick-or-treating. Parking opens early for the 6 p.m. event.
